About me
You will get to know me as a friendly, versatile and driven person. And as a committed industrial designer who likes to use his creative power for the development of relevant quality products with positive impact.
As a child I already loved to create. During my studies in Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology I enjoyed the drawing classes, modelmaking sessions and design projects. Before completing my final project, I spent a year in Barcelona, where I studied, learned Spanish, and completed an internship.
After graduating, I worked as a freelance designer for well-known Dutch design agencies such as Spark and Flex. I then joined Van der Veer Designers (now Modyn), where I contributed to projects like the complete product family of Yepp bicycle seats and accessories. I thrived in these projects, working closely with colleagues to thoroughly conceptualize, design, develop, prototype, test and more. Jointly creating safe, user-friendly and attractive high-quality products. Today, the Yepp product family has been successfully on the international market for 15 years and has received numerous design awards, including a Red Dot award.
I am an all-round industrial designer with extensive experience in designing bicycles, e-scooters, strollers, furniture, packaging, and tools.
Since 2013, I have been working as an independent designer, helping various entrepreneurs with the design and development of meaningful, high-quality products. From 2017 to 2021, I also worked part-time as a teacher at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology, where I enjoyed mentoring students and teams in learning how to responsibly design products and systems.
My versatility - in both skills and experience - allows me to collaborate with a wide range of disciplines and design holistically. I am characterized by my commitment to quality in every aspect of my work. I draw energy from creating and collaborating, have broad interests, and enjoy continuous development. In my free time, I like sports, DIY projects, and cooking.
I see products as tools to make our lives easier, safer, and more efficient. And more beautiful. It bothers me when a product or process is user-unfriendly, unsafe, inefficient, unhealthy, or unattractive. That motivates me to think of improvements. By nature, I am driven to improve things, processes and systems.
Concerned about climate change and environmental pollution, I commit to making a positive impact. I enjoy working on the responsible development of user-friendly, attractive products with long lifespans that are repairable and recyclable. Products for a circular economy, enabling us to live a good life within the planetary boundaries.
