I have strong strategic and analytical insights and am able to manage complexity, see patterns and pull multiple strands together into a cohesive whole. I like to do this at a broad system level but can also dig deep into detail. This is reinforced by my wide range of interests, experience and ongoing self-driven learning to draw on; it happens that I see things that others do not. I have consistently managed multiple elements and projects at one time which can have synergistic effects. From this perspective I am a generalist but reinforced with some core areas of expertise.
I have strength of taking ideas turning them into something real and growing them. I am comfortable working alone in the face of uncertainty and complexity, however ideally focus on co-creating with collaborators. I like to work as an enabler of others and often work as the trusted partner / advisor to the principal or client. I’ve worked in client focused businesses for quite some time. As a generalist, I take some joy in being ‘like water’ and finding where I can add value to others and being in service of their needs and the bigger picture.
Having worked with a really wide range of people and across many contexts, I seem to be able to work effectively and harmoniously with many people. If I have something that I truly believe is great, I have been successful in persuading and selling.
Entrepreneurial journeys in my 20s and hard earned lessons. Going through a significant shift in 2016. Starting completely afresh, change of career purpose, cities, and my ideas around relationships, status and finances. Looking for something with deeper meaning and re-directing my energies to work on something bigger than myself, and importantly with the right people. Taking all my diverse experiences, overlaying sustainability and impact creation onto them and applying them to the highest leverage points.
I worked with:
- UBS Investment Bank – internship and graduate scheme.
- The Big M London – Founder & Director – worked very closely with Sony; Universal; Red
- Cranswick – market leading UK food company (worked with – sustainable transformation
Whom I admire
- Father – work hard, hold professional pride, think about the long game, be resilient
- Mother – be interested in others, be interested in learning
- Brother – persistence, always creating, believe in yourself, be an enabler of others
- David Bowie – always be evolving and creating
Why Generous Minds?
The turning point I mentioned drove me to think of a purpose bigger than myself, but also for me to personally leave an imprint on the world I would be proud of on my deathbed. I want to collaborate and work with others and be an enabler - that's how I can see I might achieve real scale. The more I learn about this area the more I see the business opportunity in it and how it will shape the future.
I love how GM has been designed, it is an innovative model and has concepts that I feel inspired by: it properly aligns interests. Every day I learn from our community of Minds and continue to be inspired by everyone's drive to create real impact.
