Jari, CEO and co-founder of SpeakSee, was inspired by his parents who are deaf to enable the deaf and hard of hearing to participate in society again. SpeakSee also offers real-time translation of conversations with the SpeakSee translation station.
SpeakSee products and services, therefore, come from a deep understanding of their users and their challenges. Therefore, they are always looking to engage with their community of users and listen to them with heart and soul.
SpeakSee microphones record live what is said during face-to-face group meetings and transcribe it in real time into text on a smartphone. This allows hearing-impaired people to instantly read what is being said.
SpeakSee can identify speakers, which appear in different colors on the smart device. In this way, it is easy to see who is saying what.
SpeakSee can be used on smartphones, laptops and desktops. The SpeakSee app will be available for iOS and Android devices.
SpeakSee uses an array of sensors, the microphone intelligently isolates and captures speech from the user and rejects noise from other sources.
The system supports up to 9 microphones simultaneously.
SpeakSee as a first case in our Integrated Capital Lab
SpeakSee was the first case presented and discussed with a wide range of different funders in our first Integrated Capital Lab (ICL) of January 2019. It was a great kick-start to the ICL proposition for both SpeakSee and Generous Minds, as SpeakSee was successfully challenged and funded at that time for its financial need and with serious intentions to co-fund SpeakSee in future funding rounds as well.
As time progressed, SpeakSee developed in line with expectations and working closely with SpeakSee, we kept the overview and supported them with finding the right impact funders for the next stages of growth.
